Project name : Eastside Park
Location: Birmingham/UK
Client: Birmingham City Council
Eastside Park uses the linearity of the site to connect the city centre with its museum quarter and canal network. In the 21st century, information networks will define cities. We have envisaged Eastside Park as a live and interactive part of such a network using the analogy of a digital circuit. Eastside Park is seen as a central processor with the surrounding urban fabric functioning as the digital motherboard activated by the people of Birmingham, providing the 'electricity' and 'energy flows' that peak and dwell along the circuit.
